The Dreaded New Year’s Resolution

The new year has arrived, and many of us have made a few resolutions for 2014. Many resolutions are about health, whether dieting to lose those extra pounds we all seem to put on during the holidays or getting to the gym more often to increase our fitness level. Other common resolutions are financial in nature. Depending on your life state, you might resolve to pay down those credit card bills, open a savings account for the kids’ college fund, or start putting aside money for retirement.

New year’s resolutions are a plan for the future – they describe your intention to do things differently and make your life a little better in the coming year. Why not go a step further and make a long-term plan for your family’s future?

If you haven’t create a Will to ensure your children will be protected after you’re gone, now is the perfect time. Resolve to make this the year you tackle this tough topic and discuss your plans and preferences with your loved ones. Then consult with a qualified estate planning attorney who can help you create your Will and other important documents.

We wish you and your family a new year filled with joy and prosperity, and the peace of mind that comes from having a solid plan for the future.
